The Technology Services and Resources sector at STEP may be the most diverse; however the innovative goods and service exported from this sector contribute greatly to the diversification of Saskatchewan’s trade portfolio.

Whether it is environmental remediation strategies and equipment, augmented reality products, satellite communication systems, geo-analytical software or potash, the world increasingly needs what the TSR sector offers.

The TSR team was created four years ago to reflect the changing dynamics of Saskatchewan’s economy, and while agricultural remains an essential  tenet of the economy, the mining sector, oil/gas sector, renewable energy sector and ICT sector has become important contributors.  So what does TSR offer?

Resources: Saskatchewan is Canada’s largest mineral producer. Whether it is potash or uranium, our commodities are in high demand. World leading mining companies rely on STEP, but the strength of our resources sector comes from the world class inputs manufactured in Saskatchewan, along with the services offered by our consultants.

STEP members can offer consultation services and products for all aspects of the mining cycle from exploration to mine closure. STEP manufactures have helped fuel the Backen play and oil sands, just as they’ve served the ongoing development in the Middle East.  From mine refuge stations to fuel tanks, the TSR team can point you towards world class suppliers.

Services: An entrepreneur may have an innovative product, but we understand that trade involves more than finding a niche opportunity. From the logistics of shipping to getting paid, STEP services sub-sector has the professionals to assist exporters around the world. In a tight labour market where human capital is highly sought after, STEP members can help devise and implement immigration strategies for businesses; train foreign staff and help companies with translation services.

STEP members have the legal skills to negotiate and enforce contracts; and our members can send just about anything anywhere is a safe, efficient and cost effective fashion.  From architectural development to building mines, STEP’s services sector places a high emphasis on world class human capital!
